Job Shadows
Job Shadows are available year-round and provide the perfect opportunity to connect local employers and area high school students who are exploring their career options.

- Wakefield, Woburn, Malden, Medford and other high schools

National Job Shadow Day: February 1, 2008.
- Transportation:
- To be arranged by students
- Event structure:
- Business tour/orientation, sampling of daily activities for the job, a hands-on activity (where appropriate), lunch for student participants, and the opportunity for students to ask details specific to the job: training, demands, rewards, advancement, etc.
- Benefits to employer:
- Positive PR/media attention, free branding and marketing, direct impact on future workforce, better informed/trained future workforce, strengthened community ties and networking opportunities.
- Benefits to students:
- First-hand view of a profession, more informed career path decisions, mentor/reference within an industry, networking opportunities, and better defined focus and motivation to stay in school, perform better in school, go on to college, say no to drugs and alcohol.
