The Career Place, a Massachusetts One-Stop Career Center located in Woburn, works with over 600 local companies and helps 10,000 job seekers each year. Chartered by the Metro North Regional Employment Board and managed by Middlesex Community College, The Career Place is the 2006 recipient of the Massachusetts Department of Workforce Development Leadership Award.
This year, The Career Place is launching an exciting new campaign to help the youth of the Metro North region gain one of the most valuable and formative experiences - a good summer job. For many of us, a summer job was our introduction to work and the opportunity to develop good work habits, such as responsibility and teamwork and pride in a job well done.
Our young people are tomorrow's workforce, and we must invest in them today. The strength of our companies, our economy, and indeed our future prosperity depends on our commitment to today's youth. We urge you to join with other companies in our region to become a CareerLaunch employer by pledging your summer jobs and your support. We hope you will take a few moments today to consider how you can support this important campaign. |
