Bridging the Opportunity Gap

Our goal is to help youth from the Department of Youth Services to reenter their communities as productive individuals and to assist them to begin to achieve their personal, educational, and career goals. The program creates a continuum of options and opportunities - comprehensive case management, high-quality education and training, mentoring programs, and other services - that will give these young people the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need to build a better future. The Career Place provides direct services that meet the career readiness, pre-employment and employment needs of youth in the custody of DYS, and develops community connections that result in the delivery of services to youth who are currently reporting to DYS Community Re-entry Centers.
