Business Continuity Planning

When: This course will be offered once at Middlesex Community College and once online:
  Thursday, June 12, from 8 a.m. to 12 noon at MCC
  Middlesex Community College, Lowell Campus, Room 303
  Monday, June 9 - online course
  The online version will begin on June 9. Students will be given to June 30 to complete course requirements. The instructor will be available throughout the 3-week period to answer questions and give feedback on assignments.
Cost: Free (due to special grant funding)

Course Description Course Objectives
This 4-hour course provides information on creating a Business Continuity Plan to manage your organization following a catastrophic event. By creating a BCP, organizations will reduce risks in the event of a disaster, recover from financial loses, comply with regulations, bolster credibility, and lower their insurance costs.

This course is part of the PrepLink(SM) Community Preparedness Schoolhouse Curriculum developed through the University of Pittsburg Medical Center and facilitated by Middlesex Community College faculty.
  • Create a list of team members to include when drafting a Business Continuity Plan
  • Complete a Risk Assessment Analysis Matrix
  • Complete a Business Impact Analysis Matrix
  • Describe the options for protection in terms of cost
  • Create a Business Continuity Plan using the COOP template
  • Describe training requirements and Explain how to test a BC Plan.
  • Recognize the importance of maintaining a current BC plan.
