July 7: The Solution is in the Problem: Finding a Job
This presentation is centered on the idea that "how you think about a problem, is more important than the problem itself." This session will focus on solving the problem of unemployment via a different mindset.
Learn how using the conscious and subconscious parts of the mind in everyday actions can help solve problems and discover why volunteerism can be an effective method of tapping both parts of our mind while increasing the ability to network. Our guest speaker is Linda Beaver. |
July 21: Making Connections to Hiring Managers
This workshop will cover strategies for sending your résumé, making contact with key decision makers, identifying the strengths of different networks, developing a network, discovering names of key decision makers and how to gain expert knowledge. Our guest speaker is Chris Kelley, President of Edgy Planet Consulting www.edgyplanet.com.

August 11: Interview Tips
The job interview is the single most important part of getting a job. This workshop will cover helpful hints such as appropriate responses to those dreaded interview questions along with helpful tips regarding professionalism, communication and appearance.
Guest speaker Michelle Pasqual has been dedicated to helping individuals find the perfect job and companies find the perfect employee. Her years of experience, provide her with helpful insight and tips that are invaluable when trying to "land" the perfect job. Michelle offers career guidance, coaching and assistance in a wide range of industries, for positions ranging from entry level to senior level executives. |

Look beyond the obvious when searching for a job. Look into the hidden job market. Up to 80 percent of job openings are unadvertised, according to Cornell University Career Services.
