What Job Seekers are Saying

"...TCP counselors are wonderful..."

"...[TCP] has a ton of workshops, a two-month calendar explaining offerings... I have attended almost all of the free workshops, and they are outstanding."

"...the networking groups were fabulous... because of the emotional support from people who were all in the same boat."

"...the facility is excellent, with large, nice training rooms, and the staff is outstanding, worth their weight in gold, every single one."

"I am writing about services I received [from TCP staff at the Malden DTA  office]. I had only seen and spoke with [staff] a couple of times. But in that short time she encouraged me so much to achieve my potential. I have been a housewife for a long time but she made me think of other things I have done that would be great use to an employer. Also for free, she gave me ideas for my husband who is having a hard time in his business since the Sept 11th events. Anyway, I met at [Malden] Cyber Cafe and Malden office and got so much good advice... I think it is important to let people know when they did a good thing. We all need to do more nice things for one another and your staff went above the call this time- and probably other times. This is my first time sending email as [staff] just taught me this a few days ago. My future is wide open and thank you for helping me see that."

"... to let you know how excited and pleased I am that the [job] came through... and the position sounds just right. I appreciate the help you gave me and want to say thank you for keeping me informed about the school to career program and the jobs available."

"... thank you for all of you help. Your classes and consultation were excellent! I learned quite a lot from you and will hold on to the information for future use. I did take [the position] we discussed. Thank you for your expert advice."

School Externships
Teachers apply professional skills in new and creative ways, develop first-hand knowledge of a range of career options available to their students, and foster students’ interest in learning.

"What an interesting and informative externship week I experienced thanks to Middlesex Community College and The Career Place. My time there was enlightening, eye opening, and certainly educational.

Your staff welcomed me warmly. [My contact person] was knowledgeable, organized, professional and yet made me feel extremely comfortable.

She set up an agenda that made it easy for me to get a complete overview of The Career Place and all of its many strengths. I was constantly amazed at the patience and compassion of TCP staff members, whether they were teaching a class about cover letters, searching on the Internet, doing resume reviews, or working in the field on site visits. I will be able to bring much of what I learned back into the classroom.

Thank you for the privilege of becoming an active, involved, and appreciative client while completing my externship."

"Thank you for setting up my externship at the Career Place ...When I was laid off in 1991, I wish I could have had a "one stop" center offering so many resources at my disposal. Please thank the staff for allowing me to sit in on so many of the workshops, especially the excellent introduction to Access... Wishing the center continued success in its mission."
